Norwood Fair

Thanksgiving weekend was a busy time for five members of our guild. We did a demonstration and display at the Norwood Fair. This country harvest fair is a very dynamic and active show with many demonstrations and events. The attendance was amazing, the crowds quite overwhelming on this beautiful fall day. Our guild members demonstrated spinning and showcased our creative products in a tastefully arranged display. We as members were quite busy with the attention given, questions asked and conversations we had with the public. Four of our guild members entered fleeces from their own flocks to be judged and we were very pleased to come away with four first place ribbons to Grace Clare, Lou Hale, Allison Brown and Grand Champion went to Wendy Pullan.

September Retreat

This year started with a new venue for our annual retreat. We chose a one day event which was hosted by our own member Chandra Rice at her incredible retreat centre and home on the banks of the Crowe River. In the morning members did eco printing and dyeing. Then we were treated to a fabulous lunch picnic style outside on a long lunch table. And the afternoon was a choice of a book binding workshop or a social time to spin and knit down on the docks. The activities were amazing, the food scrumptious, and the company supreme. We are certainly a lucky group to be able to enjoy the pleasures and talents of our guild.
