WARKWORTH SPINNERS
AND WEAVERS
GUILD MINUTES
JANUARY 09/2014
10 MEMBERS
PRESENT
Joan asked
that the members contemplate were Spin-In is going. This is our 25th.
Anniversary and we need to decide if we are going to continue with the smaller
Guild membership. We can go out on a high note or we need to make the
commitment to continue. With our numbers everybody will need to pitch in so
that not just a few are doing all the work.
It was also decided that being our
25th. We would have 25 door prizes featuring small fiber related
articles, such as pins, ornaments, needles, hooks, wristlets, earrings
Karen

For those of
you who were unable to join us on the 9th. You missed a really informative
seminar on the characteristics, prep, and uses of worsted and woolen spun
yarns. We touched on what worsted yarn looks and feels like and how to spin it.
We then went through the same process for woolen yarn. We were able to try out
some combs to see what combed fiber looks like when spun short or long draft.
All of this was presented in such a way that even if you were a beginning
spinner, you would be able to follow and the information would help you get to
the next level.
Thank-You
Karen Richens for doing such a wonderful job.
